Very fundamental difference with the long term trading with short term time frame is on the psychological side experienced by traders. For a long term trader does not need to monitor price movements continuously in front of the computer, while a short term trader almost always monitor its position and is always looking for an entry point to take a small profit over and over again. The different between long term and short term for sure the time frame you see, and also the target you want to make. scalping usually really a short term with target only 5 - 10 pips per trade. While swing trading is more to medium to long term which for sure targeting more than 50 pips. And I think Long term is good then short term, because we dont have to sit infront of the computer long time and no everyday tension, just buy or sell it and then forget for some days.
