actually forex trade is a hard trade. so all the steps are important here. so we need to learn all steps properly. at first you need to learn about it. but the most important steps are money management, risk management, making strategies, leverage, indicators, stop loss, analysis etc. after learning these properly, you have to start a demo account for practicing. you need practice demo for more than four months. after finishing it properly, you can start your main trade.

Agree with your above mentioned words, the first requirement of a trader is to understand the psychology of forex. Many traders fails here to understand it well, as a trader it's our responsibility to understand the psychology and the emotions connected to it.

In addition to this, i would say that we need to maximize our hard working nature. The forex is not a bed of roses, where we will get success with a blink of an eye, rather we need to work hard to achieve success which is a very long term process and requires patience and discipline.
