It's not always volatile but it's depending on our timing to trade because it's possible if the movement of price is so slow especially in Tokyo and Sydney session. But it's depending on pair which we are using for trading too because pairs like EUR/JPY, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, or GBP/JPY have very good movement and the volatility are very good.

It is right if the volatility of price when there is high impact news (which contain currency in the pair), it can move the pair in high numbers of pips in short time. So, it's good to choose major pairs for our starting point in trading.

The volatility does not actually effects the market movement. the volatile market will have fast movement and to make profits will not take long as the market will be moving with such a pace. But i don't think that the volatility makes the market unpredictable.

Even nonvolatile market can be unpredictable too. Actually the whole forex business is unpredictable. We can't differentiate the risk with volatility. The volatility will only handover your results quickly, but it's the most preferable time to trade when the market remains very volatile.
